Mi Casa Es Su Casa
Ralph Tiebout said this to me on one of my visits to his home. And he meant it–what’s mine is yours. A touching memory I’ll treasure forever.
I loved getting to know Ralph, his personal story, and his precious violin, perhaps “the most valuable instrument students will ever hear or handle.”
He donated his entire estate and violin collection to BYU and after he passed away, his executor asked me to come to speak at his funeral. Which I did of course–and loved it as I listened to a BYU student play his donated violin for him one last time.
What a blessing to have such a close friend wanting to leave a legacy for many generations to come!
Perhaps an authentic Stradivarius violin donated by Ralph Tiebout
