Mountainland Technical College Expansion

Challenge

Needed to raise private donations for a building capital request of the Utah State legislature.  Staff and organization had no donor history and no experience in fundraising.  Two previous attempts at securing funding from the legislature were unsuccessful in part because of a lack of private support.

Solutions

Prepared a case for support, created board job descriptions and trained board and volunteers in fundraising, and designed and facilitated a new capital fundraising effort.

Results

Secured $1.4 million in immediate private funding for construction and another $3.4 in equipment over 10 years.  As a result, the legislature allocated $30 million for new building construction, which will begin in 2018.
